Moxie: An E-zine with Attitude!

https://members.tripod.com/~majormoxie/

My bottom line: thumbs up.

The attitude is moxie, i.e. strength and spirit where there should be none. But, as any dictionary should tell you, the word "moxie" was also once the name of a soda (or "pop" for you non-coastal individuals). So there's a spritely punch of bubbles behind the above definitional courage. I think you'll find that here.

There's some real fine poetry here. Behind the pink front page, with the cutesy animated heart, you find a clean, very journal-standard, set of pages with poetry and prose to fit your moods. Though there is the Yoda-inspired last line of the poem "Fear Not the Darkness," the rest of the poetry is unfettered, not too cluttered, and very clear in cutting the reader a slice of pathos. Most notable are: "Tomato Grit," "Torch Lily," and "The Smell of my House" (sic).

The works are generally unpretentious and generally quite good. I checked out each one, which I believe is a great compliment for any e-zine, let alone any more established venue. The design is quick and clean; the navigation standard and effective.
