Diamonds and Hard Times 

Diamond Billiards
Hard Times Cafe
ice only reflecting so much
on the roads
lights steadily twinkling
offices still hard at work
a playing field desolating with patches of grass dead
cars few spotted in a smooth parking lot
the smoking car is the next one down
diamonds and birds diamonds and birds
peripheral flashes
rumbles and shakes
pinky rolls
lighted doorways in the middle
of the night
train to Boston

later on I may realize
that it was good
